Kochi: Former Kerala Police chief Jacob Thomas has joined the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). On the occasion of Mahanavami on October 1, Thomas attended an RSS event at Pallikkara here, dressed in the organisation's traditional uniform. Addressing the gathering, the former DGP said the RSS aims to create individuals with cultural strength. "With more such individuals, society will become stronger, and this will ultimately strengthen the nation. The RSS seeks to build a strong nation through strong individuals," he said. He further added that the organisation does not distinguish on the basis of caste, religion, language, or region. Thomas, who earlier served as Director of the Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau in Kerala, had joined the BJP in 2021 and recently announced his decision to align with the RSS. In recent years, other former Kerala DGPs have also associated with the Sangh Parivar. Last year, R Sreelekha, the first woman IPS officer in the Kerala cadre, joined the BJP. Former DGP T P Senkumar has also aligned with the outfit.
